Enexis Groep

A landing platform
in the cloud

Home

Working in a consortium with Sogeti and First Consulting, Schuberg Philis is taking network group Enexis Groep into the clouds. We are focusing on the creation of a multi-cloud platform, based on AWS and Microsoft Azure, on which all the applications will soon be landing. "Enexis Groep is doing what many other organizations only talk about," says Julian Hessels, Customer Director at Schuberg Philis.

What's more, in the future environment it will be easier to replace one application with another, which is very important when your goal is agility.

He is referring to the energetic way Enexis Groep — with the aid of the consortium — has embraced the cloud and is replacing its legacy IT. Half of its applications are now running as SaaS. "We at Schuberg Philis take care of the integration with the chosen standard applications and custom-made software," says Julian Hessels. "Naturally this is based on a guaranteed minimum quality for the cloud platform, specifying availability, security, and other non-functional requirements."

"We've set up a kit of the most suitable standard SaaS tools, specially selected for the Enexis Groep's situation. That's important, because they will soon need to operate them themselves. The goal of the agreement was to enable and teach Enexis Groep do be able to do this themselves." The new platform enables Enexis Groep to build applications, faster and better, using facilities such as rapid application development, cloud-native services, and containers. The company can setup teams to work by themselves without help from IT support. What's more, in the future environment it will be easier to replace one application with another, which is very important when your goal is agility.

New landscape

"Applications are now being migrated to the new environment. In the process, some mission-critical issues arise," Julian continues. "It takes time, but Enexis Groep is building a platform for the next 16 years. Thanks to our partnership with Sogeti and First Consulting, Enexis Groep has no further worries about this gigantic job."
